Dr. Ennis Johnson, known to his clients simply as Dr. Ennis, possesses the powerful combination of lived experiences and academic achievement. He brings this unique perspective to his work in addiction recovery and mental health care. Dr. Ennis has over four decades of experience working directly with vulnerable populations in the Bay Area. Throughout his career, he has also contributed to public health efforts, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, serving in leadership roles for San Francisco’s Department of Public Health and the Department of Homelessness and Supportive Housing. Prior to founding Real Recovery, his recent roles included SUD Counselor Supervisor at HealthRight 360 and Internship Coordinator at Center Point, Inc.
Dr. Ennis’ commitment to equity, multicultural awareness, and community empowerment is evident across all his roles, reflecting a lifelong dedication to improving systems of care for marginalized and underserved populations.
His passion for helping others, combined with his firsthand understanding of addiction, has led Dr. Ennis to create Real Recovery USA. Along with his team, he looks forward to providing accessible, effective, and compassionate online treatment for individuals struggling with substance use disorders.
Dr. Ennis’ certifications and qualifications include: Certified Addiction Treatment Counselor V (CATC V), Licensed Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LAADC).
